I Finally Hit Diablo 4’s First Real Challenge

My journey with buy diablo 4 gold continues to be very enjoyable, but also…pretty easy. The campaign on World Tier 2 would be a standard experience. You might die in some places a few times since you’re playing somewhat carelessly on the not-hardcore character. The Butcher can have up and ruin your entire day on occasion. But generally, it had been fine.

Diablo 4

The same is true for endgame stuff. World bosses are…nothing in World Tier 3, just essentially waiting out a clock. Helltides are extremely fun! Also easy. The toughest thing you can really do is simply Nightmare Dungeons way above your level. But my stun Death Blow Barbarian was crushing through the majority of those.

All those fun times have finally come to an end. I have hit the capstone dungeon which can serve as the barrier to World Tier 4 and true endgame loot and leveling. And man, I am hitting a wall.

The dungeon itself is okay. Long, difficult, although not terrible. Then you hit Elias, the campaign boss who continues to be reborn like a death-dealing monster with armies of minions. My normally decently tanky Barbarian gets shredded by fast-moving fire projectiles and Insta-exploding floor circles. I can stun him, and I can obtain a good smash or two in, but it just takes a wrong step and I’m toast.

It reminded me of the only real boss I had an adamant time with throughout the campaign itself, the ultimate boss from the Bear Tribe campaign which was mostly about shooting little projectiles everywhere that you had to dodge, after that time Barbarian, you'd to run in for a hit or two before he’d try it again. This is like this, except he hits harder, and shoots many spawns of giant minion clusters.

No no no, don’t misunderstand me, I’m not to imply capstone Elias must be nerfed. The challenge is okay. But I am visiting terms with the fact that perhaps I have finally reached the stage where my off-meta stun build is not likely to work, and I might have to respect the whole thing to something more traditional to obtain past him. This build smashes through Nightmare Dungeon bosses however it just can't do the same with Elias. Plus the whole fight I was thinking “Man, this is so much easier on my small Rogue” as kiting endlessly having a melee class is one thing less than enjoyable.

I do think this type of challenge is nice. It’s making me return and reexamine my build. I still would like to try to beat it with my very own setup instead of scrapping everything to visit Meta. I’m trying to puzzle out where I can better balance survivability (because I’m now getting roasted) and boss damage and mob damage.

Still, it’s a little frustrating because I feel stuck. The XP gains in WT3 are extremely paltry I’m barely making progress there now. My gear is all about as good as I’m likely to get and I have to start getting that buy d4 gold Ancestral stuff. So this is the literal gate standing between me and also the true endgame.

I’ll keep trying, I guess, racking up 300,000 gold repair bills along the way.
