My home inkjet printer seemed like the easiest viable option for printing my conceptual designs onto fabric. I use my printer to print on paper almost every day, it's as easy as taking a shower, and the colors are bright enough.
The two main problems with inkjet textile printing with a home inkjet printer are fading and bleeding, in addition to the obvious problem of the fabric being too soft to pass through the printer. New-age printers that use special waterproof fabric inks don't bleed as much, but fading is a real problem.
Of course, if you're making one-off things like posters or collages or making bags that won't wash, that's fine too. But to make something that lasts on a home printer - is very difficult
